Tairra Sitek

West Coast Swing Instructor | Movement Coach | Registered Nurse

With over 30 years of experience in dance, I bring a rich and diverse background to every class. Trained in a wide range of styles—from ballet, jazz, and hip hop to Latin rhythms and ballroom — I now specialize in West Coast Swing, a dance I love for its connection, creativity, and room for personal expression. My teaching is rooted in deep body awareness, drawing from both my extensive dance training and professional experience as a registered nurse.

What sets me apart is my unique blend of dance expertise and clinical knowledge. I create a personalized experience for each student, combining the mechanics of West Coast Swing with a deep understanding of how the body moves and learns. My teaching focuses not just on steps, but on how to embody the dance—making it feel natural, sustainable, and joyful. I’m all about helping students understand the “how” and “why” behind the dance—breaking down the mechanics in a way that actually makes sense to your body, so you can move more freely and confidently (and have fun doing it!).

My personal philosophy is that dance is a lifelong, evolving art form. I believe that even the most seasoned dancers must remain students—continually training, exploring, and adapting to grow. This mindset fuels my passion for teaching and keeps my classes fresh, dynamic, and grounded in both tradition and innovation.

Whether you’re new to the floor or refining your skills, I offer a supportive and fun learning environment that honors where you are and helps you reach where you want to go.
